HJSplit brings powerful file splitting and file joining functionality to machines powered by Windows, Mac, and Linux. Use this free application to split a large file into several smaller pieces, to join several pieces back into a large application, to compare files, and to perform checksum tasks.
As mentioned above, HJSplit is available for multiple platforms. Focusing on Microsoft’s operating system alone, to get started with HJSplit on your Windows PC, you need only download a 190Kb archive, then run the executable inside. You don’t need to go through any installation process; you need only run the HJSplit executable. Of course, this means the application is portable. If you put the executable on a portable storage device, you can take the HJSplit with you and enjoy the functionality it has to offer no matter where you go.
The functionality HJSplit has to offer is clearly presented on its interface. Or to put it in other words, there are nice, big buttons on its interface assigned to everything HJSplit can do: Split, Join, Compare, and Checksum. Just click the appropriate button for the functionality you want to access. If you want to split a file, hit the Split button. If you want to join files, hit the Join button. It is that simple!
As mentioned above, you can use HJSplit to split a file into several smaller bits. To split a file you need only select it and pick the split file size. Launch the split process and the application will quickly perform its job and split the file according to your specifications. Joining several files together is an equally simple process; just select the .001 file and start the joining process.
You don’t have to spend a dime to enjoy all the functionality HJSplit has to offer. The application is freeware.
HJSplit is a very handy tool for splitting and joining files.
